Despite the grim story of the history of Japanese colonial records in Indonesia, currently the two countries have developed very close ties of friendship which is based on relations of cooperation and exchanges in various fields such as politics, economy, culture and so on. Such friendly relations, not something that can be built in one day. In Indonesia there are about 11,000 Japanese men, whereas in Japan there are over 24,000 people of Indonesia. Japanese companies operating in Indonesia amounted to more than 1000 companies, in Indonesia where 300,000 people work. Meanwhile, in Indonesia there are more than 85,000 people who learn Japanese language, this amounts to the largest in Southeast Asia and occupies the sixth position in the world.

Relationship

Bilateral relations between the two countries was opened in January 20, 1958 with the signing of the Peace Treaty between Japan and the Republic of Indonesia. The same year also signed agreements Booty.
